Funding
We currently offer government funding. When your child is entitled to the funding, we will provide you with the relevant forms. Please be aware that you can use your full funding entitlement in more than one setting.
Settling in
At Stocks Green Pre-School, we understand how the settling-in period can be difficult for both you and your child. We will assist you in helping your child feel comfortable and confident in Pre-School.
It is not unusual for your child to appear to be unhappy when being left initially, however through the distraction of a warm welcoming new exciting environment and other children this is often short-lived. Please be assured that if your child shows any undue distress, we will ring you. Therefore, their first session will be until 10 am and their second until 11 am. This is flexible, as some children take longer to settle than others, and parents should not feel worried if their child takes a while to settle.
Snacks/Lunches
During the morning session we offer a healthy snack which is provided from 10 am. Children are encouraged to select a fruit and carbohydrate and have a choice of drink, either milk or water.
During this time children can sit and enjoy the company of others. Water is available throughout the duration of the session. Children with allergies or special dietary requirements will be catered for.
In our afternoon/all day sessions, children bring in their own packed lunch with a drink bottle. We ask that nut products are not brought into the setting due to children with allergies.
Clothing
Due to the nature of our environment and the activities available to children at Pre-School, it is best to send children in clothes that are washable and not too new. Simple clothes that they can handle themselves is also important. Waterproofs and spare clothes are to be brought to each session.
It is essential that children come into Pre-School with suitable footwear i.e., trainers/wellies. We recommend that all belongings are clearly labelled.
Uniform
We have Pre-School t-shirts and sweatshirts available to purchase through Pre-School.
T-shirts are £7.50 and sweatshirts are £12.00.
We also have a cotton shoulder bag which is available to all our new starters which will contain all your child’s belongings and will go to and from Pre-School.
SEN
Our SENCO is Amanda who is also our Manager. Meet the pink ladies here.
This enables us to provide individual attention for each child.
Each child is able to progress at their pace in all areas of development; this is true for children with or without disabilities or learning difficulties.
Safeguarding
Our DSL is Vicky our Deputy Manager and Michaela on our Committe.
